Notes

Hoag's Object A — Named after Hoag's Object (a circular galaxy). "Object a" references Lacan's objet petit a, the object-cause of desire. The intermediate space that Hoag experienced is the same object a that Fischer experiences: a fantasy space that is untouchable.

Body of Eris — Named after the Greek goddess of strife. References the Hand of Eris (two opposing arrows converging into a common point) and the epiphysis cerebri (pineal gland).
